I love your writing, Sara. This piece echos in my heart like a rippled mirror on the glassy water of my own experience (the same call, but trisomy 18 for my daughter; the same prayer, but a different outcome that also changed the shape of everything). I appreciate you sharing your raw feelings and thoughts. It dispels any lingering slivers about a different life being better. Both living with and without carries pain and heartbreak. Both provide joy and liberation. Both are here to teach us, and neither is easy. Sending love.

This piece of writing is exquisite, Sara. You too me through a range of emotions so that I felt I may have lived it too.

I sent this to my mom and she cried through the whole thing. I, too, had to put down the screen and work in the garden to allow my tears of joy and hope to flow. Your sharing is a huge gift. Thank you.
